Dear Sir/Madam,

This email is to bring into the notice of the print media/electronic media about the uncertainty in the employment of more than 30000 young people of India. This unemployment issue pertains to the Public Sector banking.There's lot of competition to get jobs in the Public Sector banking for various posts like Probationary Officers,Specialist Officers,Clerks and other sub-staff positions. IBPS is the organisation which takes care of the recruitment process for these PSU banks.It gathers the vacancies from all the banks and then appoints candidates to the banks based on the overall merit score(CWE+CI). IBPS conducted CWE for PO's in June 2012 for which 11 lakhs candidates applied and 8 lakhs appeared for CWE and only 61000 cleared the CWE. IBPS conducted CI in February 2013 where 45000 cleared out of 61000. IBPS updates all the notifications and result statuses on it's website : http://www.ibps.in/. It never publishes the ascending order rank list of the successful candidates who cleared both the CWE & CI in any of the tests it conducts because of which none of the candidates has the information about his overall ranking. IBPS has never given assurance of jobs to anyone till now which is surprising as it is a Recruitment agency not a Personality testing agency.IBPS says that all the vacancies generated during the fiscal year 2013-14 will be for PO II qualified people but none of us have any clue of the vacancy no for 2013-14. There is lot of news floating in the largest circulated National newspapers that there is a shortage of 56000 employees in PSU banks at all levels which include PO's, Clerks and other sub-staff and the banks are liable to fulfill this manpower requirement in the year 2013-14 only.
In spite of the manpower shortage in all PSU banks, the banks are regretting to hire people from the waiting pool of candidates.And there are thousands of people in the waiting pool of Probationary Officers, Clerks & Specialist Officers since 1 year without any job guarantee.

In fact, Hon.Finance Minister P.Chidambaram has also given a directive to the banks to open 10000 new branches and hire 50000 people in the fiscal 2013-14. But all this news is only part of the national newspapers but not getting actioned upon.
In order to fight for justice for this huge young crowd of India, we have planned to sit in hunger strike in Delhi at Jantar-Mantar on 15th & 16th Jan 2014 at 11:00 AM. I request the print/electronic media to support and spread the awareness about the uncertain and opaque recruitment process followed by the banks and IBPS.
We need justice.
